About Alfonso Endara
Alfonso Endara is "a solitary" painter in the Ecuadorian art. He eludes the tendencies and the groups, in his desire to make a strictly personal work. Known for exquisite treatment of naked women, Endara creates a solitary, almost voyeuristic mood. The images that Alfonso Endara represents do not have an iconic relation with the reality, that is to say, that its reading, its meaning, surpasses the immediate thing of the vision: it is his symbolic universe. Endara, the artist, tries to create "beautiful" works in his paintings; incitadoras, works of the visual enjoyment. Symbolically the symbolic universe in Endara's paintings try to reveal the stirring interplay of the human dilemma: the artist and the model ", in spite of his "renuencia to emocionalizar" the personal expression, there are sensual or eroticas suggestions. Melancholic sensation of solitude and isolation translate Endara's paintings of naked women - with privacy violated by the artist -, where the spectator feels like an intruder who spies on the banal temptation of the same model, repetitively, in different positions and situations. The interest of the artist in the light is reflected in the feminine bodies and the delicate treatment of the fabrics, which stand out and play against the shady bottom of the room. The light acquires protagonism in the visual drama, when desatacar and smoothing the forms.
